Kite Flying Society.

(Image from the film Rushmore.)

On my way home from work today I got fairly frustrated because probably less than 100 feet from my exit off the highway traffic had started to slow to about 15 miles an hour. I figured there had to be some sort of accident or something up ahead but as I moved further along I saw that there was something flying up and down in front of traffic. I realized then that it was a kite. It was swooping back and forth between both east and westbound traffic dive-bombing windshields and then floating back up into the sky. No one was controlling it, somehow it had gotten attached to the large traffic sign hanging above the highway. It made me laugh quite and bit and it was pretty fun to drive under as it just barely missed hitting my windshield. It reminded me that I got an Energizer Battery kite for Christmas in a white elephant exchange and I have yet to fly it. I'll have to do that soon.
